The ladies, all mothers of young children, produced the calender to help support Alfie Long. At nine months old Alfie was diagnosed with Cryptogenic Infantile Spasms, at this time he was experiencing twenty plus seizures every day. The seizures have caused severe global delay and his development stage is only at 4-6 months old, Now at eight years of age and after numerous anti epileptic drugs and investigations still has about twelve seizures a day.
As Alfie gets older the family are faced with new and difficult challenges including needing to provide an accessible bedroom and bathroom in his home, they are eligible for financial support through a disability grant but unfortunately this disability grant will not cover the full cost of these adaptations and they need to find a further £25,000.
The organising team behind the calender are Naomi, Lucy, Kerry Wilson and Photographer Jenny Shepard, all of whom appear for the calenders December page as well as elsewhere in the year. At the launch on Wednesday night they said it was only just beginning to sink in that people across Kedington and they hope Haverhill will be seeing them naked on their walls every day for a month. The team also voiced a special thanks to Printwise for their help and advice during the production of the calender.
