Kedington dominated the early game but missed opportunities to score before Tom Rogers eventually put the finishing touch to a lovely move through the heart of the Toppesfield defence. It was still in the first half when Toppesfield allowed a corner kick to get all the way to the far post where Matt Hart was waiting to slot it in.
The second half was a quiet affair for Kedington goalie Stuart Watson, but the other end of the pitch was a far less restful place for the Toppesfield keeper as Sean Johnson rattled the bar. Still despite chances it was late in the match before Lee Phillips found the net to make the final score 3-0.
Kedington battled hard for their victory, with a bit more composure when shooting opportunities presented themselves they could have won by a wider margin.
The three points this win gives Kedington in the league has put our boys at level second on the table alongside Belchamps with 21 points in all and a game in hand. Rayne's win on the same day keeps them three points ahead at the top but one slip could see our boys pull level. Rayne's win also means that 4th place Acton Crown slip to 8 points behind making our top three place seem a safe one, but the league has a lot of games to go yet.
