Local Conservatives To Allow Everyone A Say On New Conservative Candidate

Last year it was announced that after 13 years as Member of Parliament for West Suffolk, the constituency's in to which Kedington falls, Richard Spring will be stepping down from the post at the next general election some time in 2010. West Suffolk Conservative Association have now Announced that the local conservative candidate for 2010 will be chosen at an "Open Primary" where any local constituents can vote no matter which political party they support.

The Open Primary is to be held on the Saturday 30th of January from 10am and is expected to go on for about 5 hours. Admission to the event will be by ticket only but anyone who is on the electoral register as a West Suffolk voter can apply for a ticket by emailing to open.primary@westsuffolkconservatives.com including your name and address. The closing date for ticket applications is Noon on January 25th.

West Suffolk is widely considered to be a safe seat for the Conservative Party at the next election so there is a strong likelihood that the winner of this contest will be the next MP for this constituency.
