Parish Council Chair Resigns.

At the beginning of last Tuesday's Parish Council meeting Vice Chair Terry Wheeler announced that he had received a letter from John Cahill announcing that he was resigning from his position as Chairman of the Parish Council and the council as a whole.

On being asked why John Cahill had quit Terry Wheeler said that in his letter to him Mr Cahill had expressed that he "has had enough of an on going matter behind the scenes that he did not wish to deal with." Councillor Wheeler did not elaborate further on what such matters may be.

John has been a member of the parish council for 4 year in which time he has served two terms as Chairman, taking a break from the top position for knee replacement surgery. His final year on the council will be most remembered for his efforts in the on going battle to protect Kedington from the risk of being swallowed by Haverhill during the term of the new Local Development Framework.

The position of Chairman will now be taken on by Former Vice Chairman Terry Wheeler. However Councillor Wheeler only allowed his nomination for the role on the understanding that he will be reconsidering his position come the Annual Parish Meeting in April. The Position of Vice Chair was taken up by Peter Donoghue.
