Although the first half did not see any mark made on the score sheet, Kedington seemed to have the run of play, creating more chances and putting the pressure on the Pebmarsh side.
The second half began with Kedington opening up the scoring when Pebmarsh conceded a hand ball in the penalty area which was put away near the base of the post by Rob Butler. Several more opportunities were created by Kedington but, Pebmarsh denied them more goals until a beautiful piece of teamwork saw Rob Butler hook the ball back from the touch line to Tom Rogers who took the ball round the keeper before passing it to Dan Knight for an easy tap in and a second point. Pebmarsh put their men forward and started to get more possession but, it was still Kedington creating more chances. They couldn't capitalise on them however and Pebmarsh eventually opened up their own score line when Kedington substitute Richard Riley conceded a handball in the penalty area. Having helped to give away a point it was Richard Riley who sealed Kedington's victory when he received a cross from Tom Rogers allowing him to put the ball in from the far post with a well controlled right foot volley. Pebmarsh did manage to drag the score line up to 3-2 when the ref ignored the lines man's flag for offside, but it was nearly the last kick of the game and not enough to stop Kedington sailing on to the final.
Kedington F.C will travel to Long Melford for the final on May 6th. Who they will face is yet to be decided, but it will either be Glemsford Gladiators or Clare Reserves, both of whom seem to have found their form over the winter. Kedington can look forward to an epic battle if they want the silver ware.
