In his second letter to the village in his capacity as Chairman of Kedington Parish Council distributed last weekend John Cahill made and impassioned plea to the villagers of Kedington to make sure that their views are heard in the up coming Local Development Framework.
Mr Cahill Pointed out to readers that the plan will run until 2031 and that this would be the last chance to raise objections, stating "It will be no good waiting until building starts and complaining that 'We weren't consulted'."
The Letter lists several points of concern first of which being the "Buffer Zone" between the west side of Kedington and the proposed site of 2.500 house to the west of Haverhill. The council are concerned that although the proposed area stretches around the back of Calford green no promises have been made as to the size or position of the promised buffer zones.
The letter goes on to list several areas within the Kedington area proposed for development, The First behind the limes on Mill Road, The second is the field beside Church walk and finally the land behind Keeper's Cottage at the top of King's Hill.
Speaking to Kedington News Mr Cahill Emphasised that "One letter from the Parish Council isn't enough." and went on to say that only a "Swell of Opinion" would have an impact on the framework.
The Parish Council are currently planning an extraordinary meeting to discuss the issue and we of course will publish full details as soon as they are announced.
