Acton Crown 2 - Kedington FC 5 11/10/9 |
With Punch 68 at the bottom of the league it was no surprise that Kedington seemed to dominate the match spending almost the whole match in the opposition's half of the pitch but throughout the first half the Punch defence stood un breached despite attempts on goal from Matt Hart, Lee Phillips, Dan Haynes and Sean Johnson.
Kedington Continued their dominance through the second half and finally mid way through Rob Butler floated the ball across and in at the far post. With this one goal lead and seeming control of the pitch Kedington must have thought the game was theirs, but with 15 minuets left on the clock Punch 68 broke out of their half to surge down the left flank and put one across the keeper in to the far corner of the net. Kedington did not let up but Punch 68 sank back in to an impenetrable defence once more and held Kedington FC to a point each.
This match should have been Kedington's chance to keep the pressure on first place Rayne, but with only one failure to win this season Rayne have a clear 4 points on our boys with a game in hand. Meanwhile third place Belchamps are now only two points behind us but have played one more. Still it certainly remains easier for Kedington FC to slip down than climb up to that illusive top spot. Either way they will need to find regain the ability to turn general dominance in to goals.
